Repertoire of the Ensemble

Although the Folklore Ensemble „MLADOSŤ“ works in Banská Bystrica,which is in the region of Central Slovakia, the repertoire comprises folk dances, songs and music of the whole Slovakia.

Concerning the wealth, originality and genre variety of the Slovak folklore, we can offer diverse and interesting programme to the audience at home and abroad. Thanks to a manifold choice of Choreographys and singers´ and musicians´ entries, we can adapt to demands for any kind of programme, regardless of its length or content.

In our repertoire you can find programmes of various lengths – 20, 30, 50, 120 and 180 minutes, in which we make use of separate entries of dancers, musicians and singers, as well as of well-knit scenic blocs from several regions of Slovakia. Folklore music band and singing group are an inseparable component of the programme. Both sections not only supplement the dancers´ performance but they also have separate entries. They perform various repertoire numbers, where they feature vocal and musical arrangements of songs originating in the traditional folklore of all regions of Slovakia. “Mladosť” belongs to one of few Slovak folklore ensembles that have in their repertoire a soloist (Mr. Pavol Fabík) who plays a unique Slovak musical instrument „fujara” (1,5 m long windpipe).
